History of Aviator Sunglasses

Before polarized aviator sunglasses came along there was protective eye wear found in the form of goggles. Goggles got the job done but; by comparison, were more cumbersome and less attractive. Synonymous with aviator sunglasses is the brand "Ray Ban" for good reason. Ray Ban designed their aviators using the U.S. Military goggles as a guideline in 1936 during World War II. Ray Ban answered the much needed call for sunglasses that protected pilots' eyes with an anti-glare feature helpful against the sun's blinding rays. Since their development, aviators' basic design remains intact and is still standard issue for military pilots all over the world. Pilots are not alone in their preference of anti-glare or polarized aviator sunglasses as it is decidedly the choice as well for law enforcement officials. These polarized sunglasses with their excellent eye protection offer the ability to see better during the day and enhance vision clarity at night. Due to the polarization of aviators objects/images are sharper and clearer.
